Seminar on “Journalism During Conflict and Crisis: From Local to Global” Held on International Journalism Day. Noida Film City, India: A powerful and thought-provoking seminar titled “Journalism During Conflict and Crisis: From Local to Global” was inaugurated with great distinction on 12th February – International Journalism Day during the prestigious Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2026 at Marwah Studios.

The seminar was inaugurated by H.E. Alonso Correa Miguel, Ambassador of Panama, in the presence of eminent media professionals and editors including Amrita Garg, Senior News Anchor & Content Producer, News Nation; Raj Kishor, National Editor, Amar Ujala; Dinesh Gautam, Senior Executive Editor, TV9 Bharatvarsh; Pratyush Ranjan, Chief Editor – Digital AI & Fact-Checking at PTI; Prafulkumar Shrivastav, Founder of The Trending Podcast Show; and Parimal Kumar, Senior Journalist & Former Senior Special Correspondent, NDTV.

The session was formally initiated by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, who welcomed the distinguished guests and emphasized the critical role of journalism in times of conflict and crisis.

In his opening address, Dr. Marwah highlighted that journalism during turbulent times demands courage, integrity, verification, and global sensitivity. He underlined that modern journalism has evolved from local reportage to global impact within seconds due to digital platforms and emerging technologies. “Journalism is not merely about reporting events; it is about safeguarding truth, maintaining balance, and serving humanity, especially during conflict and crisis. In challenging times, journalists become the bridge between reality and responsibility,” said Dr. Marwah.

Each speaker presented insightful observations drawn from their professional experiences, discussing war reporting, misinformation, ethical dilemmas, AI-driven fact-checking, digital verification tools, and the responsibility of media in maintaining social harmony. The panel collectively stressed the importance of responsible reporting, cross-border understanding, and technological preparedness in the modern newsroom.

H.E. Alonso Correa Miguel appreciated the initiative of hosting such a globally relevant discussion and emphasized the importance of free and responsible media in strengthening democratic values.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from journalists, diplomats, media students, academicians, and international delegates, making it one of the most engaging sessions of the festival. The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, reinforcing the significance of ethical journalism in shaping global narratives during uncertain times.
